looking up

Yesterday was kind of a down day for me and Stan...partly due to Anniston's infection and blood in her stool, but mainly because living this way was just starting to wear on us.  The doctors began discussing discharge with us a few days ago, and then it seemed that almost immediately little things began to pop up that had the potential of setting us back for at least another week.  In the long-run, this is not a significant amount of time at all.  I know the Devil was trying with all of his might to steal our joy because Anniston is doing SO well and because God has done such a mighty work
in our little girl.

After receiving much prayer and encouragement, today was a completely different day!  It's like a weight has been lifted off of our backs compared to yesterday.  Anniston's wound is looking a little better, she doesn't have any more blood in her stools, and the goop in her eyes has almost completely disappeared!  ALSO, yesterday, the speech therapist came by to monitor one of our feedings, and she said that Anniston is the poster-child for swallowing!  AND, today, the immunologist told us that her T-Cell count was normal (meaning her immune system is good to go)!  Praise the Lord that Anniston is doing great in these areas!!

The doctors have narrowed down the medication to a single antibiotic to fight Anniston's infection, and her blood-work today confirmed that it is working.  This antibiotic needs to run at least a 3 week course to ensure that there is not a relapse of infection.  We hope to complete the antibiotics at home as
 soon as her incision heals.

**The biggest blessing in all of this is that our concerns right now are easily treatable and that her heart is working beautifully!!**

Dear Father,

I pray for QUICK healing in the areas that Lindsey mentioned here. I pray that You give she and Stan unbelievable strength and patience as they are away from home. Lift them up when they are down. Do not allow the devil in their thoughts and place songs in their hearts through these next hurdles.
God, You know they are fatigued. I pray that you offer rest that is as peaceful needed to face the days.

Thank You God for what You have done so far in this sweet family's life and Thank You for what You will do.

We give You 100% glory and honor for all that has been done and will continue to be done.

Amen and Amen

In Him,
Christi

"Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things."
~Psalm 107:8-9
